When applying for admission in German university, applicants are requested to submit a letter of motivation. This motivation letter sometimes also called “statement of purpose”. Letter of motivation plays an important role in the selection process. It’s a kind of first impression to impress university selection committee.
Motivation letter is a crucial document in admission application. Do not write it by just repeating your CV. Try to focus on these questions while writing a motivation letter.

- What is your professional goal and motivation?
- In which sector would you like to work after obtaining your degree?
- In which way do you intend to contribute to you society after completion of your degree?
- Why you choose this particular programme? How this programme will be beneficial in pursuing your professional goals?
- Why do you want to study in Germany?
Make sure, your motivation letter is well composed and in an appropriate style. Proofread the text and pay attention to grammar & spelling. Finally, make it precise, to the point and not exceed more than two or three pages. Here is the sample of motivation letter for your help.

I would like to submit my name and credentials for consideration for the ‘Masters of Business Administration’ master’s degree program in “Technical University Berlin”.
I have graduated from Comsats University Islamabad, Pakistan from which I received four years Bachelors of Business Administration degree in the year 2012. Moreover, as you can see in my CV I also have had working experience of almost two years.
I chose the Masters of Business Administration for my future profession as I have always been interested in this area. My fascination with this field came from my father, who is a businessman.
After my graduation now I decided to study in master’s degree with specialization in ‘Supply Chain Management’. I choose this degree program because it will be very helpful for my future career growth and this master’s degree will strengthen my employability in all areas. This degree has a special emphasis on operations management, advanced logistics, manufacturing, distribution and supply chain management issues, concepts, tools and applications with innovative problem solving methods and international approaches of business psychology which are the important part of my future career growth.
In our country medium of instructions in both intermediate and graduation is English language. So, I’m fully enabled to understand all the subjects and lectures in English language. With this I also have IELTS certificate with score of 6.0 bands.
Once I graduated from University, I passed the job interview and get job in Engro Foods Pvt Ltd. as a Sales Executive. A career with Engro Foods gave me great job satisfaction and provided me with opportunities for personal development. This company manages their operations, logistics and distribution in whole country so I got this field very attractive for my future career.
In my extensive travels in the whole country and work with different national and international organizations, I got information that my country Pakistan trying to build an economic corridor which links the trade of China to the whole world. As you know that almost all the multinational and international companies are operating their trade from China. They will use this corridor for their trade and operations in future. They will also make their offices and warehouses along with this corridor. Therefore, I have a chance to get a good managerial level career opportunity in my country. If I have a master’s degree in relevant field that is Logistics Management.
That’s why, I realized that I would like to study abroad, gain new knowledge and new life experience, learn other cultures, and meet people from other countries.
I believe that the Germany is the best place for studying Supply Chain Management as it is a great trade center. Also, I was delighted to discover that your university is located in a beautiful city which is one of the leading business centers in Germany. I believe Supply Chain Management program provided by the Technical University Berlin is an excellent one for me to consider for the furtherance of my education. I would like very much to be able to learn new things, experience new educational methods and programs, and to grow as a student and as a person.
Concerning my personality, I believe I am a very responsible individual who loves to learn new things in life and to seek new experiences. I enjoy observing the people around me and meeting others with understanding and respect. Working for Engro Foods I had opportunities to contact people around the world making some good friends in Asia, Europe and the USA. Making friends is one of my greatest abilities. I have a passion for photography, and I enjoy browsing photo exhibitions even more than taking photos myself. Also, I like reading books and English literature.
